Kate Mara is the new Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future
Los Angeles, June 16th 2015 - Kate Mara is the 10th recipient of the annual Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future Award®. The actress, who is an excellent performer and an icon of timeless style, received the award during the gala organized at the Los Angeles Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza for the Crystal + Lucy Awards®.
The non-profit organization Women In Film Los Angeles honours extraordinary women who dedicate themselves
and give highly valuable contributions to the art of acting. Kate Mara debuted as a very young actress in Sydney Pollack's Random Hearts, and co-starred alongside great stars such as Heath Ledger,
James Franco, Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman.
She received an Emmy Award® nomination for her role in the TV series House of Cards, and we will soon see her in cinemas in the new The Fantastic Four movie.
Max Mara, in partnership with Maramotti Collection, presents "Humans as Food""
"Uomini Come Cibo - Humans as Food", the exhibition organized by Max Mara and the Maramotti Collection, will be on display in Milan, Via Monte di Pietà 23, from June 18th to September 15th 2015. Among the works on display, the drawings by the children of the Atelier dell'Errore, a visual art workshop established in collaboration with the Reggio Emilia children's neuropsychiatry department. The drawings offer an upturn the perspective of Expo Milano 2015, giving shape and colour to a fantastic bestiary of creatures that feed off humans. During the exhibition, a shopping bag featuring the drawings of the Atelier will be on sale at the Max Mara and MAX&Co. stores in Milan. All proceeds will go towards the Atelier dell'Errore workshop.

Whitechapel Gallery hosts an exhibition by Corin Sworn, winner of Max Mara Art Prize for Women
Prestigious Whitechapel Gallery hosts Corin Sworn’s (b.1976) new large-scale installation drawn from the characters and tales of the Commedia dell’Arte. As a result of her 2014 Italian residency as part of the Prize, Sworn became interested in how mistaken identity is used as a literary device. Based on sketches of garments made by the artist, the detailed costumes included in the installation were developed by the designers and skilled craftsmen at the Max Mara headquarters in Reggio Emilia, Italy. The exhibition continues to Collezione Maramotti, Reggio Emilia on 3 October 2015.

16th April 2015 - Max Mara participates at Perù Moda 2015 with a Runway Show featuring a selection of 25 coats in alpaca, a precious traditional fiber used by Max Mara since the 1950s. During the event, which took place in the stunning location of Huaca Pucllana, Lima, Max Mara Fashion Group was proud to receive a very important award. Ms Laura Lusuardi, the Group's Fashion Director, expressed her gratitute towards Peru, saying: «After 50 years, I have finally had the chance to visit Peru, a country that I have always wanted to explore for the richness of its tradition and colours».

Max Mara Art Prize for Women: Corin Sworn presents her new work
Corin Sworn, winner of the latest edition of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women, will be presenting her new work at the London Whitechapel Gallery in May 2015 and at the Collezione Maramotti in October 2015.
Her work is the result of a six months residency in Italy. During this time, Ms Sworn studied the evolution of the Commedia dell'Arte theatre, exploring the theme of “mistaken identity” in plays and on the role of clothing and attire in the 17th and 18th century Italian society.
Collezione Maramotti e Max Mara have had the pleasure to commission a feature-length documentary focusing on the highlights of her project. Watch the trailer.

Corin Sworn: evento alla Whitechapel Gallery, Londra
Max Mara Art Prize for Women and Whitechapel Gallery, London are pleased to announce a special evening of conversation, reading and perfomace with Corin Sworn, winner of the biannual Max Mara Art Prize for Women, on 20th November 2014. The event marks the midpoint of the Prize and draws on Sworn's recent Italian residency and her related project on Commedia dell'Arte theatre troupes. Sworn and the celebrated poet Lisa Robertson will be presenting and performing fragments of their own research materials, writing and notes, as a means to both involve the audience in their work and their working methods. Sworn's new work will be unveiled at the Whitechapel Gallery from 20th May to 19th July 2015, and at the Collezione Maramotti, Reggio Emilia in Autumn 2015.

in the Opening of The Whitney Downtown
New York September 15th, 2014 – Max Mara announces its partnership with the Whitney Museum of American Art for the opening of the museum's new downtown Manhattan location in Spring 2015.
The new home of the world's leading museum of Twentieth-century and contemporary art - conceived by the renowned architect Renzo Piano - will enable the Whitney to vastly increase the size and scope of its exhibition and programming space, as well as hosting new experimental and multimedia activities.

Designed by the Duccio Grassi Architects studio, the new flagship store is characterised by a striking illuminated façade, destined to become one of the landmarks of luxury retail in Beijing.
During the opening cerimony, Max Mara presented in world preview the "Heritage" Installation: created by the Migliore+Servetto Architecs studio, the installation is a journey into the history of the maison, blending unreleased archive materials and innovative technologies.

Maria Giulia Maramotti receives the prize at the 2014 Cerimony on 7th May. The Whitney Museum's Art Party was held the following night at the Skylight in New York City.

5th edition of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women
The winner of the 5th edition of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women in collaboration with Whitechapel Gallery is Corin Sworn, Glasgow based film and installation artist. Her winning proposal draws inspiration from the Commedia dell'Arte, the masked, improvised theatrical performances touring Italy in the 16th Century. Sworn has been awarded a 6 months bespoke residency in Italy.
