#MAXMARAGRAM: past, present and future
A figurative motif and a typographic character redesigned in a new and original way starting with Max Mara's advertising campaigns in the 50s. The inspiration: lettering that was already present in ancient epigraphs discovered in Rome, dating back almost 2000 years, which had been known since the beginning of the 19th century under the name 'Tuscans'.
It was also used by the artist-illustrator Erberto Carboni, great master and pioneer of Italian graphics, who used it for a poster in 1958, inspiring the new Max Mara logo pattern. Today it has been tweaked with a completely new and modern vibe, but its elegantly graceful letters with their swirls and curls are still recognisable. It has taken the name of #maxmaragram and is featured in a special capsule collection of dresses, accessories and shoes available in stores and on the Max Mara website.
